Squatting has always been part of my yoga practice and teaching. Only recently whilst on a Bowen course with Julian Baker did I fully realise how helpful squatting is to the digestion system and to the mobility of the ankles, hips and knees. Take a look at these images and notice the lovely long shape of the back and how the sacral area is open and flat. Once you have warmed up your lower body area you might like to have a go at a squat. If you feel pain, please come out of the pose.
