Yoga and Neuroscience

Neuroscience is fascinating to me.  Learning and understanding how to get the best out of our subconscious minds and hence, bodies is a passion for me.  Neuroscientist and Chiropractor, Dr. Joe Dispenza (who starred in cult film What the Bleep?) explains his ideas in ways which appeal to the Yogi in me.  Yesterday I watched an interview with him on You Tube where he explained how meditation can help us to 'retire' old programming which holds us back from being the person we want to be; from achieving what, on some level, we know that we can. Awareness and Yoga

Awareness and Yoga really need to go hand in hand.  The more I study the Kashmir Yoga approach with Jay Rossi, the more convinced I am that by paying attention to our body during our yoga practise we will achieve the best results: that is, energise, release tension, re-balance and self heal.  To take our yoga practise further, we can take awareness outside of our yoga practise and use it in every area of our lives.  Asking ourselves questions such as; does this work feel comfortable with who I am?  Is what I am eating and drinking on a regular basis energising me or draining me?  Do the people I regularly mix with energise or drain me?  What else can I do that makes me feel energised and good about myself?

Leighton Buzzard/Milton Keynes classes
