Neuroscience is a passion for me. Ever since I began my Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner Training I have been fascinated with how the mind works. To be able to take control of our thoughts using a variety of techniques seems to me to be the ultimate in Emotional Intelligence. Not to live a life plagued by anxiety for example. Many of us arrived on this planet with imprints of our parents' emotional issues. Recently I read Bruce Lipton's Biology of Beliefs and a light came as I understood that we don't have to accept a diagnosis that we have genetically inherited something, we can make changes.
Dr. Joe Dispenza is my favourite Neuroscientist, though I think he is really a Chiropractor who happens to do a great deal of research into the functionality of the brain. His book, Evolve your brain, Change your mind, is, forgive the pun, mind blowing! Yesterday I watched an interview with him on You Tube www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE8yP5PPdHU in which he explained how Meditation can help us to 'retire' old programming that our subconscious mind runs. Programming that harms rather than heals us. If you have 30 mins spare, it is worth a look.
