Can you have happiness at work? Now, before you answer, take a few moments to really really consider your reply. There are those who would immediately respond, no way, work sucks, can't wait for Friday, wnt to win the lottery and give up work. But have they thought through what the benefits of work are?
I know people who find it very difficult to work through ill health. Consequently they miss out on:
- having a reason to get up in the morning
- having social interaction, just the general chit chat that goes with being with work colleagues
- self-esteem - it is great when someone tells you that you are really making a difference to the team; workplace; sales results etc
- 70% people meet their life partner through work
Please add to this list and let me know what you would miss by not being at work...
This of course is all a case of Attitude (which is just a collection of thoughts). If you are struggling with my ideas here, just take a step back and reconsider the way you look at work. Of course if it still sucks, then what are the options open to you? That's a list for another day!
Take a look at another blog to enhance your thinking on this subject http://positivesharing.com/ct . Back to work for me, yippee!
